About me

I received my Masters in Counseling in 2014 and was blessed with the opportunity to perform my licensing internship with as a full time Counselor with LARADAC in Columbia. LRADAC, formerly referred to as The Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council, cares for the needs of the citizens of Lexington and Richland counties of South Carolina. They offer a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. LRADAC is a non-profit agency that is one of 33 county alcohol and drug abuse authorities recognized by the state of South Carolina.

After completing all requirements to become Licensed Professional Counselor, I moved to Three Rivers Behavioral Health as a Group Counselor for ???. The group therapy sessions were very challenging and fulfilling to me as a counselor and the results were very rewarding. The greatest rewards were the affirmations from my patients that they were really enjoying the group sessions and getting great benefit from the tools and techniques that I was sharing with them. This phase of my career also immersed me in the technology of virtual meetings as precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 dictated that all the group therapy sessions needed to be remote sessions with the patients.

I decided to start my private practice after considering the benefits and challenges of the journey. Several of my close mentors and colleagues urged me to start a private practice to maximize the counseling benefits through personal interaction with individuals who have had the strength and desire to seek counseling. I enjoy the challenge that the variety of issues and needs presents. I more thoroughly enjoy seeing the results and improvement that were achieved. The results are due to the effort by the patient and the tools and techniques shared through the counseling sessions. This is what makes me want to do this.
